Banquet Amenities
What if we want to hold a banquet there, does WVTCC provide catering?
That is in the works, but we’re not ready to serve just yet. We are in the process of building full-service commercial kitchen facilities. After the kitchen is completed – expected to be in the fall of 2022 – all food and beverages will be provided in-house. Weddings are permitted to provide wedding cakes and favors.
You can bring in a caterer of your choice, as long as the caterer you select is licensed and insured. We have warming ovens and catering kitchens available for use. Because of liability concerns, you cannot take leftover food or drinks from the facility
We also have modern 72-inch rectangular and round tables. We do not provide table linens and recommend asking your preferred caterer or a linen company about table linens.
Can I bring in my own alcohol?
No, bringing in your own alcohol is not allowed. If you plan to have alcohol at your event, please note:
- You will have to provide the appropriate event insurance
- You need to reserve a Boone County deputy sheriff for your event
- Your licensed and insured caterer must have an appropriate liquor/beer/wine license from the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration.
Can we bring in decorations? And get early access to decorate?
Our facility manager will consider special requests regarding decorations. Typically, if there is no conflict in scheduling, the manager will allow event planners to come in early to decorate. Before you buy decorations, check the WVTCC policies and guidelines.
ROOMS, RESERVATIONS and CANCELLATIONS
Does the WVTCC have hotel rooms?

When can my event start and how long can it run?

Our typical business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Can the West Virginia Training and Conference Center provide a venue for weddings?
Yes. Our banquet hall can accommodate up to 350 persons for a wedding reception. We can accommodate many layouts and encourage you to visit the facility to see if it is the right fit for your special day. Please call 1-304-369-7823 to speak with the West Virginia Center staff.
Health and safety
What do you do to protect event attendees from COVID-19?
On June 20, 2021, Gov. Jim Justice announced that he signed an executive order, officially lifting West Virginia’s Statewide Indoor Face Covering Requirement for all residents, regardless of vaccination status. Therefore, masks are not required on-site or within the center’s buildings. WV Center asks all who enter the building to take their temperature and fill out a daily health screening form to protect all persons in the building. Thank you for your understanding.
The health and safety of our guests is a top priority. Hand sanitizing stations are placed throughout the entire WVTCC facility for the convenience. We provide hand sanitizer in all rooms and masks if needed. All classroom and event spaces are set up to accommodate six feet of distance between each person. After each event, we use an industrial sprayer with hospital-grade disinfectant to clean all chairs and surfaces. We have also added additional cleaning protocols including additional restroom checks and frequent sanitation of all door handles and commonly used surfaces.
We respect and protect our attendees from COVID-19.
